This course equips participants with the skills and confidence they need for fostering positive psychosocial safety within their team. This course teaches you how to lead with empathy and provide a consistent approach to prioritising mental health within a team or organisation increasing overall productivity. At the end of the course you will have practical strategies to:


  • Create psychological safety within a team
    • Build trust and respectful communication within a team
    • Demonstrate and facilitate open and respectful communication
    • Empower staff through positive reinforcement
    • Identify stress indicators in themselves and others
    • Understanding personal reactions to stress and trauma
    • How to self-regulate and model emotional and stress regulation
    • How to model positive mental health strategies
    • Apply the five principles of trauma informed practice – safety, trust, collaboration, choice and empowerment
    • Respond to effects of stress and trauma on employees through curiosity over judgement
    • Crisis Communication and Crisis Response
    • Apply principles of active listening, validation, safety and apply mental first aid

Tanya

Tanya Hallett is an award-winning teacher, trainer, coach and speaker who passionately advocates for mental health and trauma informed practice in schools and organisations to improve outcomes for everyone. For her work with TIPT, she won an organisational award for excellence in diversity, inclusion and equity in Defence.


In the education sector, she is a senior lead teacher who facilitates trauma informed classrooms, culturally responsive teaching, cultural inclusivity and neurodiverse inclusivity.


After her own work-related PTSD diagnosis, she founded TIPT (Trauma Informed Practice Training) to enable organisations to foster psychologically safe workplaces where emotional intelligence is paramount. She teaches leaders and organisations practical, trauma informed strategies to empower post traumatic growth and mental health wellbeing. She has created innovative and practical programs in Trauma Informed Sexual Harassment/Assault Response , Managing and Responding to Complex Trauma and PTSD, Managing Burnout and Vicarious Trauma. She tackles these tough topics in a practical and accessible way, incorporating traditional learning techniques and LEGO® Serious Play®.


Tanya has been a trainer and facilitator for over 20 years, working in Australia and internationally for companies such as Mitsubishi and Toyota. She is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, a LEGO ® Serious Play® Facilitator and has extensive experience working with youth and adults heavily affected by trauma.
